Same rationale as for direct-manipulation of
documents, allow a GUI-based way to point at a view
and close (and potentially do other things to) it
without needing to go through the menu system.

Mike please rephrase this as a practical suggestion that fits and is doable in the current framework.

The closest to `direct` I can come up with at the moment is a Delphi style right click on the tab which brings up a
popup menu with a Close option.

    Right-click is a well-established Windows standard for
direct manipulation. If you like, take the suggestion as:
add a right-click menu providing access to common actions
for each file to the tab.

Since the request I added the right-click meny on the
notebook page tab of Additional Views to close the View.

I'm closing the request for now. At least the infrastructure is
    there to extend the concept.

    Riaan.
