I've got my plugins directory and premissions set up perfectly, as far as I can tell, but Blosxom doesn't seem to be running any plugins I put there. Is there a special file extension I should be using/not using?

Plugins should not have any extension!

same problem here. Not the first time I use the software and got it to work before.
I'll just keep trying find out what I'm doing wrong.

Can you inspect your error log of you server?
In case of Blosxom not loading its plugins there may be some warnings in the log.
