    Birthright Dungeon Master Tool

Birthright Dungeon Master Tool is an Adobe AIR desktop application designed to help the Dungeon Master managing domain turns in the D&D Birthright Campaign Setting.

    The software contains many functionalities:

    • Maintain static data (domains, provinces, holdings, characters, ...)
    • Track players actions
    • Interactive map of Anuire

Will this software only work with abode air or is there another way to run it.

I really like the idea but abode is the worst spy ware and malware out there. I had to spend several hours removing all the unwanted and hidden software. Needless to say I have not been able to run your software.

      Hi Angelo,

As it is an AIR application, I am afraid the only way to use it is through
      the Adobe AIR Player.

However, I am not sure to understand what you mean by spyware and malware.

Although using AIR implies the installation of a couple of Adobe products,
it has nothing to do with spyware or malware and it's as safe, if not more,
      as any Java application.

      Best Regards,

      Nicolas

Well, maybe not getting the right download site, although it was an Adobe
site. There were several hidden programs that made changes to my browser
settings, installed a "pc enhancer", installed and changed my search engine
and placed several programs in my system that stopped me from trying to
change back and added several hidden ads. Took some effort to remove all
the junk software that was installed.

I'll try to install again as I really like the Birthright setting and would
very much like to take a look at your application. Although I'm not sure if
I can still use Adobe Air if I remove all the unwanted software as you have
to agree to the extra downloads and I did not see any options to opt out of
    the extra software.

        HI,

Ok I was finally able to install Adobe Air and managed to run the jar file
        from the email tool.

But I got the following error message when I try extract the files into
C:\Program Files\birthright which may be causing the program to nor work
        properly.

        Error: Access is denied.
        Cannot create C:\Program Files\birthright\mimetype.
        Administrator privileges may be required.

        Any advice?

I tried to change various profiles on the folders and files to
        admin privileges without much success.

        Kind Regards,
        Ang

          Hi Angelo,

I am not sure I understand what you mean. The application is an AIR application. That means that when you download it, all you get is a birthright.air file that you double-click to install the app. You don't have to extract anything. Just download the file and double-click to install...

          Regards,
          Blaede

            Ok,

When I download the Birthright files I get a Zip File. Nothing to run. In
the folder META-INF there is an AIR folder with
application.xml file. When I run that file I get:

            -<application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/3.1">

            <id>Birthright</id>

I believe this is XML but the program does not execute. Not sure what I'm
doing wrong. Never having used Adobe Air is most likely my issue. :-(

Any help or where I can look to get the answers would be appreciated.

            Best Regards,
            Ang

I think the problems comes from your installation of Adobe AIR player (what you download from http://get.adobe.com/air/). It's the player that runs AIR application on your computer. Because it is not correctly installer on your computer, your OS does not recognize the .air application and treats it as a zip file.

You are not supposed to unzip birthright.air and look for an .exe file, birthright.air IS the exe file =)
