This is an upgraded version of James Norman's Window Level Tool.
http://rsbweb.nih.gov/ij/plugins/window-level-tool/index.html
Like the original, you click and drag on an image to change its window and level. The enhancement allows you to right click on the tool button to get a menu including Auto and Reset. These are the functions taken from the Brightness and Contrast dialog which set the Window and Level back to known, reasonable values after you have changed it back and forth during inspection of the data. If the study is a CT study, there will be additional presets: Image, Chest-Abdomen, Lung, Liver, Bone and Brain-Sinus.
In addition there is a full screen option which is activated by a double click on the image. It is a toggle operation, where the first toggle expands to full screen the second toggle returns the display to zoom=1.0. Please note the double click on the image. If you double click on the title bar the previous full screen will be activated.
To return to zoom=1.0 a second double click is only one of the options. Personally I prefer the keyboard shortcut of 5. A third option is Postage stamps which is part of the Pet-Ct package. The Postage stamps does a minimize to zoom < 1 of all images, not just one by one.
A nice feature of this full screen is there is no wasted "white space". If the image is square, or otherwise less than the full screen, you can take 2 images and make them both full screen. While they will almost certainly overlap, still you can place them side by side and compare them simultaneously.
Go to Files and download Window_Level_Tool.jar into ImageJ->plugins->Tools
Go to Help->Update Fiji and press the button Manage update sites. Check PET-CT. Choose the software you want, specifically the Window Level Tool.
For both cases, press >> on the toolbar and choose Window Level Tool. On my system, I first did Remove Custom Tools before adding the Window Level tool.
