Source packages and pre-build binary packages for Ubuntu 10.10 are now available via PPA (Personal Package Archive) on Launchpad.

BESTGUI has been added to Softpedia’s database of software programs for the Windows operating system on this page.

BESTGUI has been tested in the Softpedia labs using several industry-leading security solutions and found to be completely clean of adware/spyware components (“100% FREE” Softpedia award).

New bugfix release. BESTGUI v. 1.2.1 is compatible with python 2.6 and also provides support for BEST v.4.2.2.

Binary packages for win32 platform will be available soon.

Source and binary packages for the stable release of BESTGUI 1.2.0 are available for download.

This is a stable release and includes support for BEST 4.2.0 and above (two new tools), a fix of the windows installer and support for gtksourceview2.

Now the sphinx tool is used to generate the entire documentation set.

Source and binary packages for the alpha release of BESTGUI 1.2.0 are available on the BESTGUI project page on SourceForge. BESTGUI 1.2.0a includes a better support for BEST version 4.2.0 and above.

The source code repository has been moved to subversion. The old CVS repository is no more available on SourceForge.

The binary installer windows platforms finally available for BESTGUI 1.1.

A new release of the BEST software (v. 4.2.0) is available on the ESA web site http://earth.esa.int/services/best/

This is mainly a bugfix release.

It has been fixed an important bugs, that caused an infinite loop, on win32, at preview generation time.
Strongly improved the smart environment handling and the preferences handling.
Now the program has a simple command line interface.
New debian package (uses pycentral).
Starting from this version BESTGUI no more supports Python versions older than 2.4 and PyGTK version older than 2.6.

Released the first stable release of BESTGUI.

With respect to the previous version there is a new logo and a couple of important bug fix.

The main new feature of the 0.99 release are the output viewers: a preview of the output image is showed in a separate tab together with the image annotations.

Now it is possible to view the parameters file as text further than as a form.

Tested on python 2.5.

Coding style improved (PEP 8).

Documentation updated: new "Internal HMI files format" section. Several minor changes and bug fix.

Custom dialog for the co-registration tool, now an expander is used for the AoI specification, GUI moved to single glade file, StringVector (for multiple output files), Check, CheckChar and CheckString parameter types added, parameters based on paramtype.Entry now have two new item in the context menu: "Clean" and "Default", several minor improvements and bugfix.

The BESTGUI project sources now are available on the SourceForge CVS servers.

Support for PyGTK 2.4, improved support for old versions of BEST (SAR ToolBox) and many other improvements and bug-fix.

Support for Python 2.3, a brief tutorial added to the BESTGUI User Manual and a couple of important bug-fix.

Version 0.95.1 of BESTGUI has been released on 15 Apr 2006.

It includes an almost complete set of features but it is still a beta release.

Many improvements have been done to the setup environment for win32.

Now the setup script can generate:
* python installers (bdist_wininst)
* binary distributions (py2exe_)
* installer for binary distributions (py2exe + InnoSetup)

Fixed some bugs in the handling of exception from webbrowser launcher and in the preferences handling.

This is the first public release.

It is a beta release and already includes an almost complete set of features.

The documentation is still incomplete.
