Speaking of testing, I grabbed a 1.35.3 tarball and tried building everything under cygwin. To my surprise, it looks like the hangups are only minor. I was planning on making my first test with file volumes. (Cygwin doesn't support large/>2GB files yet. =( ) I did some digging, and they actually do have code that emulates the st devices in a linux-esque style (passing commands through to the Windows SCSI tape interface), but I've only found reports of people using that interface to run mt. Anyway, just a heads-up. I'm going to see what I can do to get a clean build and test with it. The current Win32 FD is built as a native Win32 app without need of cygwin, and thus to the best of my knowledge supports files > 2GB. |
