i knew i need to install the kernal source before installing this driver, so i downloaded and installed the file "kernel-2.4.20-24.9.i386.rpm"(is this the "kernel source" file i need for this installation ?), and it succeeded. but when i type "rpm -qi kernel-source", it said "kernel source is not installed", then i dont know what to do next, please help

Would be interesting to know what Linux distribution you are using. RedHat ? SuSE ? Mandrake ?.
The kernel source package's name is very unlikely to be "kernel-source". Its most probably "kernel-source-x.y.z".
If you have a lot of files in /usr/src/linux (where the kernel source installs by default), then you probably have a working kernel source.

      Best Regards
