#7 Add Disaster Recovery capabilities

v3.0

No

Should include the ability to save a compacted
(tar/gzipped?) file of the website and a text file with
all the SQL data. Then, the restore would involve
unpacking the compacted website, running a recovery
script (along the lines of the INSTALL.PHP script) and
upload the SQL data.

This scenario would also allow for moving the website
from one hosting company to another or from one RBDMS
to another.

This functionality will be delayed until (at least) v1.3,
which will not begin coding until April 1.

This feature has been reopened in order to be included in v 1.3.

Would be also fine to make automatic daily backups (tar.gz),
and have an option to keep last X number of backups.
    Naming could look like:
    name_backup_2003-08-16.tar.gz

That's how I did on my site, and that solution works fine.

    Best regards,
    Webmaster33

This feature will be integrated into the Website
Configuration module (SETTINGS.PHP). However, it has been
pushed down the roadmap until v3.0
