It would be nice if the program had a way to index some folders to make searching faster. One way to accomplish this would be to have a new tab in options where I can list indexed folders. Whenever a listed directory is searched we will compare the current list of files to the list of files in the index (by update date/time and filesize), and anything new or modified will update the index. Otherwise use the indexed information. This could make searching much faster.

+1, I don't mind paying for it either
I have tried dozens of search applications, even enterprise-level solutions, but Astrogrep has the best search interface for a personal desktop I have seen. Responsive, compact, with fast preview and filtering and no obfuscation behind boost algorithms, but clear-cut matches. Some sort of indexing functionality would elevate it to a perfect solution that I wouldn't mind paying for either. Please consider this!
