Doesn't seem to be filename related. Findings so far:
1) set up a temp folder and copied APKs a few at a time. With 13 APKs in the folder only 9 appeared when scanned. Some had non "a-z0-9_." ascii characters such as ()% but most were routine names. An apk with "&()" and spaces in the filename scanned correctly. Changing filename of non-scanning apks (eg to "qwerty.apk") didn't make them become scanned. Still testing this to see if I can find a cause.
2) Also, update-scans "hang" part way. Still testing if this is due to specific files or folder contents or reproducible. This seemed to relate to re-scan... clicking "Scan APK Directory" wouldn't complete and "hung up" (although could be cancelled normally) but on restarting the app, the initial scan would complete. Consistent.

"processing" meaning, initial scan.
Are there any special characters in the file names of the files to be scanned?
