#147 ns_thread -begindetached error

The ns_thread -begindetached api is not creating
detached threads. This leads to accumulation of
orphaned non-detached threads, and is also impeding the
normal thread cleanup of what should have been a
detached thread. This results in a substantial memory
leak.
