My Problem is simple:
Everytime i try to save or load sth the AoI just crashes(without error message) and saves nothing.

This doesn't happen for me. Could you include some specifics? What does the scene contain? What plugins do you have installed? What version of Java are you running on? What version of Art of Illusion? What operating system (especially, is it Vista)?

I mean this could be because of Java version. I had an experience on Win XP with the last Java 6 update 3 that everytime i tried to load/save anything i was waiting about 1 minute (while it seems to be frozen and javaw.exe process was spending high CPU power) for windows dialog box with list of files and directories... But it was probably with every java application, no matter on plugins installed in AoI. Then i've reinstalled java back to version 1.5.0 and now it's going with no problems. I mean this might be very important for Win XP users and i hope somebody will come with more sofisticated comment or solution... cheers

That's very strange indeed because I'm running Windows XP with Java 6 Update 3 and have no problems saving or loading or with other Java apps. Maybe something else is installed that is messing it up? Any out of the ordinary storage devices (USB drives, external hard drives, network drives)? If it's having trouble with the files list dialog box it could be waiting on such a device. Might upgrade the device's drivers. A more experienced developer might have a more useful place to start looking. Peter? Nik?
