I can see that you have been looking at all the right code. I think the best way for you to proceed is to set the area you want to zero (within a polygon in set_polygon), then use add_quantity with a profile you create which has your new profile as defined within that area and zero outside your area of interest. It would look something like this (from memory) domain.set_quantity('elevation', 0.0, polygon=....) Q = .... new quantity (see code inside add_quantity as to how to do this) Q.set_values(0.0) # Make sure it is zero everywhere Q.set_values( <Your New Profile> ) domain.add_quantity(Q) If that doesn't work, someone will have to implement more functionality. You should be able to call set_quantity with a polygon restricting where values are changed. That could be used to reset parts of the domain. Something like domain.set_quantity(0, polygon=......) Hi, Problem was coming from my netcdf. I deleted my libnetcdf and manually installed the latest netcdf-4.1.1. library. After re-installing anuga via the repository, all tests passed. Hi Herve, I recall on one of my machines, I did have to update netcdf. Might be worth doing that if you install the newer version of Scientific. Dear All, I am using ANUGA for simulation of glacier lake outburst floods (GLOFs) in Sikkim Himalaya, India (as a project component for my academic course). I am very happy about the model - it is indeed very robust and simple to use. I have a few queries regarding the program. I shall be thankful if somebody addresses them. 1. I understand that there is a provision to drape the mesh with a georeferenced tif file. However, while running anuga viewer from the command prompt, I could not open both the sww file as well as tif file. I get the error 'Require last argument be an .sww/.swm file....quiting'. Is there a solution for this? As suggested in the FAQs, I've tried to resize the tif, making it small and open it in a picture browser, still no luck. 2. Generating an unstructured mesh: While creating an unstructured mesh using function create_domain_from_regions, I get 'ValueError: too many values to unpack'. Both my bounding polygon as well as interior polygon files are correct as both are recognised as polygons by anuga while generating structured mesh. I really want this function to work as it will greatly reduce the computation time. 3. For dam break/ GLOF discharge input, I am using the 'inflow' function, after making it time dependent and adding a loop to change the discharge. I would like to know if there is a better alternative available. Also, from the literature available at the webpage, I've learnt that ANUGA has been used previously for dam break simulations. I would be grateful if one could provide me any literature/ guidance regarding this as I would like to cite this in my project thesis. Before writing this mail, I have tried my best to solve these issues. I have also used the application on linux Ubuntu 10.04, getting same results. I did not have programming background until recently, and hence, it is possible that the problems I've mentioned are due to my own limitations. I apologize in advance if that is the case. Hi Ramalingam, Actually you have two problems. With anuga version 1.2 there were a lot of name changes (under the hood). In particular, the interface module was removed and anuga was setup as a module. So your main of problem should be fixed by downloading the new version of the validation tests. As regards the strange "invalid command name "272650848callit" while executing "272650848callit" output. A search on google seems to imply that this has something to do with the Tk graphics windows closing down. I think you can get by ignoring those comments. However, it seems that the compilation of all files is not possible, maybe because the file compile_all.py is not running correctly. In fact, it compiles only a few files. Hi All, A minor bug has been fixed in the anuga-viewer. This bug caused a "fonts/arial.ttf" warning to appear when the help menu was accessed and also caused the help text difficult to read. For those who installed the anuga-viewer using methods 1 and 2 in https://datamining.anu.edu.au/anuga/wiki/DownLoadUbuntu (ie from the repository) can update via the Update Manager (System->Update Manager and click "check"). "check" will check the repositories for updated or new packages. anuga-viewer should appear in the list. For those who installed directly using the deb package, you'll need to uninstall and download and install the latest version (1.0.1-0ubuntu1). Cheers, Nariman |
