Great piece of software here but it would be cool if mouse selection was also monitored by the daemon

Hello, this feature is present on anamnesis, but it is not enabled by default.
To enable it you should change or create the configuration file to have the following lines:

[clipboard]
# enable to read/store values from the primary selection
read_from_primary=True
