As you surmised, this depends more on the Perl folks than
me - there are no current developers working on Carbonizing
the MacPerl environment. I think most people are waiting
for Nandor to finish up the 5.6.1 release of MacPerl.
As previously mentioned in an email though, you may have
better luck using the Linux version of AmphetaDesk and
running it through a terminal window. There is a bit of an
installation snafu (which will hopefully be fixed in the
next release), but once you get it installed and running,
it performs as intended.
