Hi Alex,
Love your program, thanks for sharing !!!
just discovered the file browser (OMG !!!) that really saves me a lot of time,
as I'm working on the single covers for my Dutch Top40 Collection (from 1970 till 2009) (over 13.000 covers)
As you understand I do a lot of searches for covers for single's, and often the google script won't find
anything (0 results) (I have it set to 20 results) and I can't find the cover I'm looking for in Album Art Downloader, if I then try a manual search on Google I do find what I'm looking for.
for instance do a search on: Europe - Superstitious
then try a search like this;
https://www.google.nl/search?biw=1055&bih=450&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=Europe+-+Superstitious&oq=Europe+-+Superstitious&gs_l=img.3..0i30.157708.167177.0.168071.2.2.0.0.0.0.88.166.2.2.0....0...1c.1.64.img..0.1.78.CNorov8cmtQ#imgdii=UXhGubFUKgCNlM%3A%3BUXhGubFUKgCNlM%3A%3BV2XdE1tkykcaVM%3A&imgrc=UXhGubFUKgCNlM%3A
it's the same search, but manually in Google images, no.1 and 5 are what I'm looking for.
if I try a search on: Eddy Grant - Gimme Hope Jo'anna
then the script does seem to work fine
another instance: Fairground Attraction - Find My Love
the Google Script has 0 results, manual on Google delivers Images on result 1, 2, 3 & 4
I have lot's of examples like those.
is there anything you can do to improve the Google Image script ?
Thanks
Best Regards
Ton
I tried Fairground Attraction - Find My Love and it worked fine for me. The script uses google.com rather than google.nl, I don't know if that might explain some differences.
Other than that, Google will customise your results personally for you in your browser, based on all the data it has gathered about you. The script will give a plain, neutral set of results that are not customised for you - that might explain other differences.
Finally, google has bot-detection which means if you run lots of google image searches outside the browser then they can just stop working for a while.
I would regard the google image script as a last resort, personally, and try other sources that might be less unfriendly.
