Are you running the tools as root? To open and bind sockets, you need = root privileges. Sounds like your Linux kernel has SMP support enabled. You can either = recompile your kernel without SMP support (assuming your machine has a = single processor), or just edit the Makefile to remove any instances of = "-Werror". Try running the tools as root. If you still have a problem, send the = exact output from the message with the output of "id" and the last few = lines of "dmesg". -Joshua Wright Senior Network and Security Architect Johnson & Wales University Jos...@jw...=20 http://home.jwu.edu/jwright/ pgpkey: http://home.jwu.edu/jwright/pgpkey.htm fingerprint: FDA5 12FC F391 3740 E0AE BDB6 8FE2 FC0A D44B 4A73 |

I've been working on getting AirJack working today. I believe I have the drivers built but when I try to run most of the executables, I get either a message that I don't have the parameters right (which I can get by) or an "operation not permitted". I also have not been able to build airjack. With version 0.6.6b-alpha, I get a whole pile of undefined references. With 6.2, I get errors about "_not_SMP safe...". In both cases, it ends with "make: *** [airjack.o] Error 1". Also, in both cases everything in the tools directory seems to be built correctly and runs till I get the parameters right, then I get the "operation not permitted". |

;), yeah, I've found a way to beat everyone at that ;)...seriously though I'd have it coded ahead of time, it'd be like a cooking show, if I start to run short on time I can skip a bit...but it would be nice to show how easy it is to write things for it and at the same time release a new chipset driver... --Abaddon On Fri, 2003-08-08 at 14:09, Rager, Anton (Anton) wrote: > lol -- that's last minute coding ;) >=20 > -----Original Message----- > From: Abaddon [mailto:ab...@80...] > Sent: Friday, August 08, 2003 9:30 AM > To: Rakesh Arora > Cc: airjack-users > Subject: Re: [Airjack-users] Defcon slides >=20 >=20 > not yet, I didn't really have many slides to speak of, the audience was > mostly interested in 802.11 in general an end user stuff, airjack's > audience is more developer oriented...if you can make it out to toorcon > next month I was thinking about giving a talk on developing with aj-2, > both from the kernel perspective (making new cards and bus's work with > aj-2) and userspace development...if there is interest I was thinking of > developing an aj-2 chipset driver on the spot explaining as I went, and > doing the same for a userspace app... >=20 > --Abaddon >=20 > On Thu, 2003-08-07 at 23:55, Rakesh Arora wrote: > > Hi, > > I know you are still working on the GPL licenses, makefiles > > etc for Airjack2 before you can release it, but I was wondering if you > > make your presentation slides available at your site. PEAP+TKIP is better than PEAP+WEP certainly. It's all a big crapshoot = anyway, since TKIP is bound to be broken sooner or later. Hi, I know you are still working on the GPL licenses, makefiles etc for Airjack2 before you can release it, but I was wondering if you make your presentation slides available at your site. I am eager to know about the new functionalities that you have added! Thanks. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! SiteBuilder - Free, easy-to-use web site design software |

yeah he released the LEAP stuff, and don't worry, I wasn't being sarcastic I really do respond well to nagging... as for reviews, I dunno, I've not seen any, I know a lot of people were pissed they couldn't get it, that was the theme of this years defcon (issues with the fire Martial actually counting heads this year), but can you link me on reviews of the talk (or were talking about the con in general), I like feedback negative as well as positive (I usually know what I did wrong, I just wanna see if you knew)... --Abaddon On Wed, 2003-08-06 at 13:49, Jerry Shenk wrote: > No no, wasn't meaning to be pestering. >=20 > I ran into Joshua at SANS in DC (Washington, not DefCon;). hi, I'm new at using airjack, when I insmod airjack, I can sniff in monitor mode without any problem. But can airjack be configured in "normal" modes like ad-hoc or associated with an AP ? I tryed to use tools provided in v0.6.4 : # ./setmac aj0 00:09:5B:63:9D:D7 ioctl: SIOCSIFHWADDR: operation not supported ?? |

yeah all of that went without saying, pretty much if you are in airjack-tx mode then the card's driver is going to try as hard as it can for that chipset to get it exactly as you asked for it, and if thats not enough there are ioctl's to read and write directly to the cards memory, so, like on many cards, they store the beacon frame in one fid block on the card, in the same location, if you tweak it with AUX there then you can get it to transmit that as if it were the beacon... on other cards however I expect it to be a lot easier, like say the atheros a/b/g cards after I'm finished playing with ARM firmware (and undoubtedly killing lots of cards)... so basically thats still the core functionality, and sense im wanting to make this easy to test things then this is one of my big priorities already... and if id get my lazy ass to get you guys something working then you'd have seen this already, so my bad ;)...it really is coming though, its just hard to fight off the shiny things after im tired from working all day... oh, and btw, the airjack-announce mailing list is mostly one where i send you receive, not really ment for discussion on that one, just for announcements... --Abaddon On Thu, 2003-07-10 at 12:54, Joshua Wright wrote: > It would be great if there were a function (through accessing the AUX > port, or searching the BAP after firmare mangling) to be able to change > arbitrary portions of frames we would like to send. It would be great if there were a function (through accessing the AUX port, or searching the BAP after firmare mangling) to be able to change arbitrary portions of frames we would like to send. I'd like to be able to set arbitrary BSS timestamps in beacon frames, for example, or to be able to play with oddball control frames or the like. Maybe more work than it's worth on the Intersil chipset, but I though I would get my 2 cents in. :) -Joshua Wright Jos...@jw... > -----Original Message----- > From: air...@li...=20 > [mailto:air...@li...] On=20 > Behalf Of Abaddon > Sent: Saturday, July 05, 2003 7:51 PM > To: airjack-announce; airjack-user-devel; airjack-users; airjack-users > Subject: [Airjack-user-devel] call for feature requests >=20 >=20 > this is the time to make a feature request...go all out and=20 > demand crazy things that you wouldnt otherwise ask for, i=20 > want to know what the users of this are going to want... >=20 > i am especially interested in hearing from those of you who=20 > write or maintain wireless related projects, or are=20 > interested in developing wireless tools that might use the=20 > AirJack drivers... >=20 > i would also like to get an enumeration of the various 802.11=20 > devices that people would like to see supported... >=20 > if you would like to request support for an 802.11 device=20 > please post to one of the lists, include "feature request" in=20 > your posting so i can sort it out faster, and include the=20 > chipset it uses if you know it, and links to any existing=20 > opensource software that uses it (or email me developers docs=20 > for the hardware)... >=20 > please note however that i will not sign any NDA's for=20 > developers docs that would restrict my release or use of the=20 > drivers or my release of information about the hardware=20 > itself (so in other words it cant be too useful an NDA)...i=20 > am already under enough NDA's to kill a small horse and id=20 > like to not add to that...also, please note that i will not=20 > accept any documentation that would normally require an NDA=20 > to get unless the person offering it is authorized somehow to=20 > give me access to the document (so no "133+ h4x0r'ing" for=20 > the docs), you know who you are out there, so to you, thanks=20 > but no thanks... >=20 > thanks... >=20 > --Abaddon >=20 |
