The current way of playing MIDI files using adplug is tedious, in that they must be played through winamp. If someone took the Adplug library and turned it into a windows MIDI driver, it could be used in actual midi sequencers. MIDI already seems buggy in winamp so this might take a lot of work but it seems like it would be simple; match a timbre with each of the general midi patches.

If this feature is to be implementented at all, AdPlug should support non-DLS instrument patches as well.

I think I have realized that maybe Adplug only works with type 0 midis so there may be a long way to work on this to get it working but if people cared enough, they'd do it
