Hi, the user guide currently mentions that one needs a Java-5-compatible JVM to build the RVM (see http://www.jikesrvm.org/Building+the+RVM , Tool Requirements). However, the target "mmtk-harness" uses a source level of 1.6 . Should the build assume a Java 5 environment or a Java 6 environment? I am asking because I plan to change the annotation processing during the build. Currently the annotation processing is done with apt. apt is deprecated since Java 7 and will probably be removed in Java 8. It is replaced by the javax.annotation.* packages but these are only available from Java 6 onward. Kind regards, Erik Brangs |
