hi. i seem to have encountered a weird case of gpsbabel dropping more trace points when trying to simplify the trace. gpsbabel options : gpsbabel -i gpx -f infile.gpx -x position,distance=2m -o gpx -F outfile.gpx my understanding is that it should remove points that are closer than 2 metres to the previous point. i have attached a reduced testcase. if that command is used on it, on the lower part of the trace there are several cases when way more points are removed - in one case more like up to 40 metres. i have tested with gpsbabel 1.3.6 and 1.4.2, the problem seems to be there with both of these versions. if i reduce the trace to only the part that gets broken, it is processed as expected - no excess point dropping. -- Rich |
