>>> By the way, no one spoke to the issue of creating a mondo iso >>> image of a disk filesystem using a bootable rescue CD like KNOPPIX. >>> Does anyone know of a way to do this? >>We all know how... but no-one has done it yet. >How? (Or is this tongue-in-cheek)? I tried it and mondo says it can't run in ramdisk. Ok... I found the answer by SEARCHING THE MAILING LIST ARCHIVES! Who would've thought... :) My answer was in a post dated two days ago... I found that apparently: 1. The feature was taken out so that people wouldn't use it to duplicate Windows machines (which is strange, considering Norton Ghost and a host of other products were made for this very thing), and 2. It is possible now to do this on Linux machines using a patch to mondo 1.74 from CVS I must admit I don't use software from CVS repositories much, and I may be looking in the wrong place, but a quick glance at the web CVS view doesn't show a 1.74... is this something that only the developers can get to? Hugo said: >The answer is in the source code. >Edit the source code, disable the fatal_error() and see what happens. Ok... haven't tried it yet but I will. Thanks, - Todd |
