Hi, finally today I managed to find some time to properly set all stuff at sourceforge: * tagged the current trunk (r180) which was imported in github * trunk/README.txt file pointing the code has been moved * redirected all pages to the new locaiton under github.io Anything else to take care in the move? For me the question now is what to do with this mailing list. Due the small traffic we have, I'd prefer to stop using it and move all discussions (in case any appears) directly to rdflib-dev. What do you think? Hi, what about move the code to the rdflib organizaton at github? http://github.com/RDFLib I'm not sure if they'd be interested, but they could since they internally use the wrapper for the remote sparql queries. I could ask. So then we easily get contributions from new people. Think about it. Cheers, -- Sergio Fernández <se...@wi...> |

Hi, thanks for the pointer. The tests have been updated and some of the marked as "private" due to probably non-normative content negotiation in dbpedia endpoint. Mariano: Carlos has a point. I know that with the triple stores I work with (based on OpenRDF Sesame), it is necessary to include prefix declarations for any prefixes you use in your SPARQL query. In your case, the query would need these declarations: PREFIX dbpedia-owl: <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/> PREFIX dbpprop: <http://dbpedia.org/property/> However, I have tried the query below1, which lacks explicit prefix declarations, two different ways. First, entering it on the web page at http://dbpedia.org/sparql, and second, hitting the same URL as a SPARQL endpoint. It worked fine both ways. So, the prefixes given at http://dbpedia.org/sparql?nsdecl are defined for you even if you don't include them explicitly in your query. Mariano: Looking at your updated query, I've highlighted all well-formed graph pattern statements in green. The first item in the WHERE clause is still problematic, though. I've highlighted it in yellow. It is simply a resource URI and a period. There needs to be a predicate connecting it to a subject or object as well. My guess is that you're wanting to bind it to the ?x variable. A good way to do this is to replace that first syntactically incorrect item with BIND(<http://dbpedia.org/resource/Tim_Cook> AS ?x) Best regards, Dale From: Mariano Alvarez [mailto:ro...@li...] Sent: Friday, August 16, 2013 11:18 AM To: spa...@li... Hello! Some tests failed while trying to run SPARQLWrapper's test-suite locally. I believe I'm doing something wrong, could you give me a hand? I used the command bellow (Python 2.7.3) on r177's trunk: PYTHONPATH=src/SPARQLWrapper:$PYTHONPATH python test/tests.py And there were 3 failures (out of 17 tests), as presented on: http://pastebin.com/CYZaKyJe I also tried to run SPARQLWrapper's tests using Python 3.3.0, and the same 3 tests failed: http://pastebin.com/LRnnLuU4 Are they really broken, or is it a local problem? Hello Guys, Some time ago there was a discussion related to SPARQLWrapper providing support to Digest Authentication [1]. This feature is very important, because some triplestores use Digest Authentication. Openlink Virtuoso, for instance, offers this method as an alternative for securing endpoints [2]. I've just checkout SPARQLWrapper 1.5.2 and this feature is not available yet. Are there any plans to apply the patch or to implement this feature in another way? Could we help on pulling this feature upstream? Stefano: I can't speak to how specific SPARQL endpoints implement their handling of CONSTRUCT ... ORDER BY, but the standard (http://www.w3.org/TR/2013/REC-sparql11-query-20130321/#modOrderBy) states that ORDER BY has no effect on CONSTRUCT graph queries: Using ORDER BY on a solution sequence for a CONSTRUCT or DESCRIBE query has no direct effect because only SELECT returns a sequence of results. This makes some intuitive sense, since SELECT returns a result set, whereas CONSTRUCT returns a graph, and RDF graphs have no order to their statements. You will have to sort the statements using some method external to SPARQL. An alternative is to insert the resulting graph into its own store, and then: SELECT ?atto ?predicate ?object { ?atto ?predicate ?object . } ORDER BY DESC(?atto) Best regards, Dale Visser From: Stefano Vergani [mailto:ste...@gm...] Sent: Friday, April 05, 2013 12:32 PM To: spa...@li... Subject: [sparql-wrapper-devel] Is it possible to order results from a CONSTRUCT query? Hi everybody, I am new to this mailing list so I hope this kind of questions is not OT. I am experiencing an issue with a CONSTRUCT query using the SparqlWrapper: I am collecting data from the Italian Parliament Sparql endpoint and I need to fetch data about the laws discussed during one day and then write an output file containing those data. The construct query does all that but when I print the file the data is not ordered by law code as I would want it to be. If I try the same query on the Virtuoso panel the Parliament provides the results match my needs but I run the same query with my python script the output is correct but there is no order. I already tried using ORDER BY instruction in my query but it didn't help. The query is the following: PREFIX ocd: <http://dati.camera.it/ocd/> PREFIX dc: <http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/> PREFIX creator: <http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/creator> PREFIX persona: <http://dati.camera.it/ocd/persona> CONSTRUCT { ?atto a <http://dati.camera.it/ocd/atto>. ?atto dc:date ?date . ?atto dc:title ?title . ?atto ocd:primo_firmatario ?primo_firmatario. ?atto ocd:altro_firmatario ?altro_firmatario. ?atto ocd:rif_richiestaParere ?rif_richiestaParere. } WHERE { ?atto a <http://dati.camera.it/ocd/atto> . ?atto dc:date ?date . ?atto dc:title ?title . OPTIONAL{?atto ocd:primo_firmatario ?primo_firmatario.} OPTIONAL{?atto ocd:altro_firmatario ?altro_firmatario.} OPTIONAL{?atto ocd:rif_richiestaParere ?rif_richiestaParere.} FILTER(str(?date) = '20110117') } ORDER BY DESC(?atto) And you can find all the code I am working on here (https://github.com/verganis/parlamento_fetch), the script that I am using is parlamento_fetch/c_atti.py which runs like this python parlamento_fetch/c_atti.py YYYYMMDD example: python parlamento_fetch/c_atti.py 20110111 Thanks in advance, ------------------- Dott.
