Sweet Home 3D is an interior design application that helps you to quickly draw the floor plan of your house, arrange furniture on it, and visit the results in 3D.

Wings 3D is an advanced subdivision modeler that is both powerful and easy to use (inspired by Nendo and Mirai from Izware). Wings has a simple interface. Right-click menus give you easy access to common commands. These menus are context sensitive, so depending on your selection, a different menu pops up.

K-3D is the free (as in freedom) 3d modeling, animation, and rendering system.

FreeCAD is a general purpose feature-based, parametric 3D modeler for CAD, MCAD, CAx, CAE and PLM, aimed directly at mechanical engineering and product design but also fits a wider range of uses in engineering, such as architecture or other engineering specialties. It is 100% Open Source and extremely modular, allowing for very advanced extension and customization. FreeCAD is based on OpenCasCade, a powerful geometry kernel, features an Open Inventor-compliant 3D scene representation model provided by the Coin 3D library, and a broad Python API. The interface is built with Qt. FreeCAD runs exactly the same way on Windows, Mac OSX and Linux platforms.

MeshLab, a mesh processing system, for user assisted editing, cleaning, filtering and rendering of large unstructured 3D triangular meshes (typical 3D scanning meshes). The system relies for mesh processing tasks on the gpl VCG library (vcg.sf.net).

Blockbench is a free, modern model editor for low-poly and boxy models with pixel art textures. Models can be exported into standardized formats, to be shared, rendered, 3D-printed, or used in game engines. There are also multiple dedicated formats for Minecraft Java and Bedrock Edition with format-specific features. Blockbench features a modern and intuitive UI, plugin support and innovative features. It is the industry standard for creating custom 3D models for the Minecraft Marketplace. To launch Blockbench from source, you can clone the repository, navigate to the correct branch and launch the program in development mode using the instructions below. If you just want to use the latest version, please download the app from the website. Blockbench puts all the tools at your disposal to make the creation process of low-poly models as easy as possible. Use cuboids to get that Minecraft aesthetic, or create complex low-poly shapes using the mesh modeling tools!

three.js is a lightweight and easy-to-use JavaScript 3D library with its own default WebGL renderer. It works by creating a scene with a camera and a geometric cube, the latter of which is added to the scene. This will become the animated object within the scene. A WebGL renderer is created for the scene and the camera, with an added viewport to the document.body element. Finally, the cube is animated within the scene for the camera. A plethora of examples can be found in the project’s website (https://threejs.org/) which use Canvas 2D, SVG and CSS3D renderers that the library also provides.

Art of Illusion is a full featured 3D modelling, rendering, and animation studio. It is written entirely in Java, and can run on almost any operating system.

ArmorPaint is stand-alone software designed for physically-based texture painting. Drag & drop your 3D models and start painting. Receive instant visual feedback in the viewport as you paint. Work fast with the convenience of nodes. Paint with fully procedural materials. Build fill layers with material nodes. Use brush nodes to create patterns and procedural brushes. Regard3D is a free, multiplatform, open-source structure-from-motion application. It creates 3D models of objects, based on photographs from different angles.

Photogrammetry is the science of making measurements from photographs. It infers the geometry of a scene from a set of unordered photographies or videos. Photography is the projection of a 3D scene onto a 2D plane, losing depth information. The goal of photogrammetry is to reverse this process. The dense modeling of the scene is the result yielded by chaining two computer vision-based pipelines, “Structure-from-Motion” (SfM) and “Multi View Stereo” (MVS). BRL-CAD is a powerful cross-platform constructive solid geometry solid modeling system that includes an interactive geometry editor, ray-tracing for rendering & geometric analyses, network distributed framebuffer support, image & signal-processing tools.

MeshLab is an open-source, portable, and extensible system for the processing and editing of unstructured large 3D triangular meshes. It is aimed to help the processing of the typical not-so-small unstructured models arising in 3D scanning, providing a set of tools for editing, cleaning, healing, inspecting, rendering and converting this kind of meshes. MeshLab is mostly based on the open source C++ mesh processing library VCGlib developed at the Visual Computing Lab of ISTI - CNR. VCG can be used as a stand-alone large-scale automated mesh processing pipeline, while MeshLab makes it easy to experiment with its algorithms interactively. The open source system for processing and editing 3D triangular meshes. It provides a set of tools for editing, cleaning, healing, inspecting, rendering, texturing and converting meshes. It offers features for processing raw data produced by 3D digitization tools/devices and for preparing models for 3D printing.

GraphCalc is a very gui graphing calculator. It has been called a good replacement for a TI-85. It is a must for any high school math student.

OpenSCAD is software for creating solid 3D CAD models. It is free software and available for Linux/UNIX, Windows and Mac OS X. Unlike most free software for creating 3D models (such as Blender) it does not focus on the artistic aspects of 3D modelling but instead on the CAD aspects. Thus it might be the application you are looking for when you are planning to create 3D models of machine parts but pretty sure is not what you are looking for when you are more interested in creating computer-animated movies. OpenSCAD is not an interactive modeller. Instead it is something like a 3D-compiler that reads in a script file that describes the object and renders the 3D model from this script file. This gives you (the designer) full control over the modelling process and enables you to easily change any step in the modelling process or make designs that are defined by configurable parameters.

Importer library to import assets from different common 3D file formats such as Collada, Blend, Obj, X, 3DS, LWO, MD5, MD2, MD3, MDL, MS3D and a lot of other formats. The data is stored in an own in-memory data-format, which can be easily processed. www.open3mod.com/ is a 3D model viewer and exporter based on Assimp that is also Open Source.

This is the main source code for the MakeHuman application as such. See "Getting started" below for instructions on how to get MakeHuman up and running. Mac users should be able to use the same instructions as windows users, although this has not been thoroughly tested. At the point of writing this, the source code is almost ready for a stable release. The testing vision for this code is to build a community release that includes main application and often-used, user-contributed plug-ins. We hope that the utility of this integrated functionality is sufficient to entice a larger cohort of testers who get value-added in exchange for the possibility of uncovering deficiencies in our application.

NaroCAD is a fully fledged and extensible 3D parametric modeling CAD application. It is based on OpenCascade.

CadQuery is an intuitive, easy-to-use Python library for building parametric 3D CAD models. It has several goals. Build models with scripts that are as close as possible to how you’d describe the object to a human, using a standard, already established programming language. Create parametric models that can be very easily customized by end users. Output high-quality CAD formats like STEP and AMF in addition to traditional STL. Provide a non-proprietary, plain text model format that can be edited and executed with only a web browser. The scripts use a standard programming language, Python, and thus can benefit from the associated infrastructure. This includes many standard libraries and IDEs. CadQuery's CAD kernel Open CASCADE Technology (OCCT) is much more powerful than the CGAL used by OpenSCAD. Features supported natively by OCCT include NURBS, splines, surface sewing, STL repair, STEP import/export, and other complex operations.

Misfit Model 3D is an OpenGL-based 3D model editor. It supports multi-level undo, skeletal animations, texturing mapping, scripting, command-line batch processing, and a plugin system for adding new features. Complete online help is included.

OpenCTM is a file format, a software library and a tool set for compression of 3D triangle meshes. The geometry is compressed to a fraction of comparable file formats (3DS, STL, COLLADA...), and the format is accessible through a simple, portable API

A Blender script to procedurally generate 3D spaceships from a random seed. Install Blender 2.80 or greater. Download newest add_mesh_SpaceshipGenerator.zip from the Releases section. Under Edit, Preferences, Add-ons, Install, open the downloaded ZIP file. Under Edit, Preferences, Add-ons enable the "Add Mesh Spaceship Generator" script (search for "spaceship"). Add a spaceship in the 3D View under Add, Mesh, Spaceship. Expand the Spaceship tab that appears in the bottom left of the viewport to adjust procedural generation settings. Build the hull. Extrude the front/rear faces several times, adding random translation/scaling/rotation along the way. Add asymmetry to the hull: Pick random faces and extrude them out in a similar manner, reducing in scale each time. Categorize each face by its orientation and generate details on it such as engines, antenna, weapon turrets, lights etc.

SuperSplat is a free and open source tool for inspecting and editing 3D Gaussian Splats. It is built on web technologies and runs in the browser, so there's nothing to download or install.
