It is supposed to connect to LDAP directorys running on Windows XP, 7, 2000, 2003, 2008 and 2012 (and probably future versions) as long as NTLMv2 is supported by the LDAP service You can connect to Active Directory Domain Controllers and AD LDS using any domain account and you can connect to AD LDS running on ordinary member servers or on Windows XP/7 using local accounts.
