I used a stethoscope on a green mold in Moloch's Sanctum, and this was the result:
Status of the green mold (neutral): Level 1 HP 55(9) ....

The mold had almost certainly grown from a corpse.

    Confirmed present in 0.0.6E4. If a mold grows on a partly
    eaten corpse then its maximum HP come from the mold defn.,
    but the current HP come from the corpse (modified by how
    much has been eaten). This does not affect molds that grow
    on corpses that have not been partly eaten.
