Using Notepad++ under Windows 95

Reported by: sheilaq Owned by:

Good evening,

I've now downloaded both the 5.6 and 5.5.1 versions of Notepad++ and am trying to use on a Windows 95 PC. I followed the instructions (after downloading the first "installer" version -- only to find that it was Unicode and not compatible with Windows 95) and downloaded both two newer versions using the .bin.zip versions -- unzipped them to separate directories, and attempted to execute the program. In both instances I received the following error:

"The NOTEPAD++.EXE file is linked to missing export KERNEL32.DLL:IsDebuggerPresent."

Can you help me fix this? Is it because the Ansi version of the .exe file needs to be placed in subsequent Windows directories like it sounds that the installer would have done -- to replace the original notepad.exe file?

I'd greatly appreciate any assistance you could give me as I'd really like to try out this program.

Thanks a bunch and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
