Adding LPPL to the list of OSI-approved licenses

Reported by: cereda Owned by: ctsai

Description

I'd like to suggest the addition of LPPL - LaTeX Project Public License - to the list of OSI-approved licenses. LPPL has been approved by the OpenSource Initiative as an open source licence. Sourceforge already has some great LaTeX packages and classes in the repositories, and I really believe we all could benefit from the addition of this license to the system.

Hello,

Thank you for this inquiry, I've sent a message to the appropriate staff to evaluate this. I'll let you know when this has been addressed.

With that said, please note that the Trove Categorization is just for categorization purposes. Whether it's in the Trove or not, as long as it's an OSI-compliant license, you can use that on your code. Similarly, setting a Trove Category doesn't actually license your code with that license, the licensing needs to be done on the code itself.

Okay, the LPPL has been added to the classic project Trove Categorization (all your projects appear to be classic projects).

I've also logged a ticket for this to be added to the SourceForge 2.0 Beta system here: https://sourceforge.net/p/allura/tickets/2717/

As you don't have any SourceForge 2.0 Beta projects, I'm going to close this ticket as fixed, but you can follow that ticket if you want.
