Git commit notifications not working

Reported by: nijel Owned by:

It looks like sendmail used for git notifications is gone from the server:

hooks/post-receive: line 642: /usr/sbin/sendmail: No such file or directory

I have the same problem for the Bacula git repository. It works on the shell server, the /usr/sbin/sendmail command is present and works as expected.

The same for our project (szarp)...

  • status changed from new to closed
  • resolution set to self-service

With the change we've made to our SCM offering, this is now expected. See our blog post on this for an explanation and workaround: http://sourceforge.net/blog/update-on-scm-services/

So you expect every project which uses Git to install some script to website just for commit notifications? This sounds really crazy.

Can you please change http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/sourceforge/wiki/Git%20hook%20script%20example so that it actually works and contains preferred solution?
