I have created a very large encrypted file container (ex: 500GB) on Veracrypt 1.23-Hotfix-2, however, it is taking a very long time to format it (>24 hours). On Windows, there is no option to "Quick format" when creating file container. If I were to create a encrypted partition, then the "Quick format" option appears. I have tried the following to circumvent the issue: 1) Using a dyanmic (sparse file)" file container. This method works and formats quickly, however Veracrypt warns that sparse file...

Can you explain how to "manually fill the regions 0x200 to 0x20000, 0x1000 to 0x200 from the end of the file"? I have created a 500GB file container. Becasue there is no option for "quick format", it is taking hours (>24h hr) to format. I intented on filling the entire file container with data... A temporary work around I have found is using "dyanmic (sparse file)" file container. If I choose this mode, then it creates the container much faster.
