thank you Stefan. I will have a look at openVSP too, although it seems to me that flow5 will be more appropriate for my purposes. marco

Hi, I just wanted to ask for a clarification about the T2 polars calculated for a plane, and the velocity diagrams. As far as I understood, T2 analysis finds for every point, the speed providing a lift that match the plane weight. This does not correspond necessarily to a straight and level flight: if the plane has no thrust, it follows a constant glide, with a Vz!=0. Supposing that one applies a thrust that balance the plane drag (this should be the Fx parameter, right?), can you confirm that it...

Hi, I just compiled the trunk svn version on Debian bookworm/sid. I compiled just fine. On my system, the missing header is contained in the package qtbase5-dev. Hope this helps, Ciao

may I suggest to use a monotone saturation colour like this? (I did it manually but I think it really helps to read the polars)

Dear André thanks for your reply. I imported the XFLR5 thickness-scaled profile into xfoil and indeed I obtained the same issues: many points did not converge, and the polars look irregular: so I confirm that the two codes produces the same results starting from the same airfoil data source. When I import the profile modified in XFLR5, xfoil produces this warning: XFOIL c> load RG-15mod.dat Labeled airfoil file. Name: RG-15mod Number of input coordinate points: 62 Counterclockwise ordering Max thickness...

Hi, I am new to xflr5 (and not an expert in aerodynamics). I started repeating the steps illustrated in a xflr5 tutorial published some time ago on RCSD: http://www.rcsoaringdigest.com/pdfs/RCSD-2008/RCSD-2008-02.pdf However, I was not able to reproduce the results (in particular the polars) reported in the above paper. I did a little of investigation, studied xfoil and I arrived at the conclusions that xflr5 has some issue when a profile is scalde. I compared the polars of a given profile obtained...
