Hello Socrates, Currently, I do not know which commercial gamebooks have been made using ZTAB, since it's totally freeware, anybody can use it without any charge or registration. In the documentation, you can find how to customise the rendering for some formats. (Especially HTML based outputs allow a fine tuning, but require some web programming skills) Here you can find a project introducing Fighting Fantasy stats https://sourceforge.net/projects/fightingfantasy/ that can be used with Ztab.
Hello Socrates, 1) You can find how to install ZTAB on linux, in the documentation : https://sourceforge.net/projects/ztab/files/ZTAB%20Documentation/ZTAB%20Editor%20Doc%202023-0-0-0%20EN.pdf/download 2) I can confirm you that using ZTAB does not need any programming skills. The documentation also describe a simple example explaining the first steps to create adventures with ZTAB. Enjoy
