After much experimentation and inconsistent SQ...I can say on turbo boost etc... DO NOT touch BIOS and DO NOT use ThrottleStop... Do this instead in power plan settings...see attached pics... Then sit back and enjoy...a rock steady cpu speed with boosts, throttles and other SQ destroying gobbledygook...!

Didier, Enjoy your break! I will retry the SWCF option with PCM & DSD and get back. More important is the issue with updating W10. This causes real problems where from time to time the SQ just collapses. Didier, Pls see attached my BIOS settings with turbo boost off. I keep my CPU at a rock steady 2.5 Ghz i.e. green bars...never moving or going to amber or red when turbo kicks in...which it can't as I have blocked it. This is necessary for best SQ in my experience. I had to use Throttle stop to force turbo boost to be really inactive on top of changes in bios. Now your questions....I switched affinity from 10-5 to 8-7 to test... Problem is with DSD wv. and DSD raw... Buzz, beep and crackle is from...

Hello Didier, Thanks for your prompt reply. Please find attached DSD 64 playback logs for affinity settings: 8 & 4 = DSD render is buzzing and crackling 8 & 7 = ditto (pls suggest another combination) 16 & 8 = stable but affinity fails. 12 & 6 = totally stable AND superb SQ. Sooo... what happens to FB2K+Asio2_2.0 with affinity @ 12 & 6? The SQ is like I've almost 'never' heard on W10. Hello Jens, Didier has clarified below and furthermore I also confirm that in components the patch in this discussion shows up in Foobar components as beta 2. Please also note if using Foobar you need to reinstall Didiers patches as FoobarI removes them after each update.

Didier, Thanks for your clarification. 2 channel and AVX2 is also my only playback mode. If a better version with these parameters can be posted as a patch then much appreciated. Else the one relevant to this discussion is fine. Thanks and your work much appreciated. Oh yes....when foobar is updated, If I'm not mistaken, it kicks out Didiers component a.d re-insatlls it's own....meaning that after every Foobar update Didiers patch/es need to be re-insatlled.

Hello Jens..... Where are you getting the Asio2 1.1. beta5 plugin from? I can only see 1.0 beta 5 and the above patch is beta 2. Thanks.

There i sno question....the SQ improvement with foo_out_asio2.dll Beta 5 i.e. The Patch, is better in every way. The SQ finally makes itslf known which Beta 2 couldn't and sounded...ice cold. Now the SQ is meaty, beaty, big & bouncy and I can't stop listenening. The SQ improvment to FB2K is outstanding.
