User reintegrated not corrupted Mbox file into Thunderbird to resolve the reported issue. At this point it is not clear whether there are any limitation supporting Thunderbird exported file by Mbox Viewer. Hopefully more users will report success and/or failure loading exported Thunderbird mail files into MBox Viewer.
I am glad you resolved issues with files. You can always try MBox Viewer again in the future if you are bored and have plenty of free time -:)). Feedback will be welcome.
Thanks for raising potential issue. It is possible I made assumptions that may not work for all account types. I have Yahoo account only on my Thunderbird. All my export file testing was done using Yahoo account. I assumed that ImportExport plugin can always re-create sub-folder structure as physical sub-folders. MBox Viewer doesn't process the .msf (Mail Summary Files) index files which may contains labels apparently corresponding to Gmail labels. I was under impression that Thunderbird creates...
Sure, take your time.
Are you saying that layout under Thunderbird and MBox Viewer differs? If there is no sub-folders under physical root folder, there will be no sub-folder under MBox Viewer.
Please clarify what doesn't seem to work. The screen you attached shows content as I would expect and reflects root folder content, right? It looks like you have several files such as Inbox, Drafts, etc and no sub-folders. You indicated that there are no sub-folders under physical root folder, right? Therefore there is no sub-folder shown under MBox Viewer. No need to do more "mailfile" since MBox Viewer seems to reflect content under physical folder. I thought nothing worked for you.
You can also try DOS more command as below to verify that file is valid. Open command prompt window and cd "folder with mail file" more "mailfile" and post the result F:\MBOX\Linux1>more apache.mbox From users-return-6787-apmail-subversion-users-archive=subversion.apache.org@subversion.apache.org Tue Jan 04 12:12:46 2011 Return-Path: users-return-6787-apmail-subversion-users-archive=subversion.apache.org@subversion.apache.org Delivered-To: apmail-subversion-users-archive@minotaur.apache.org Received:...
Ok. What do you see under the main folder? Single mbox file or many eml files or something else? When you select folder from MBox Viewer, do you see any message from MBo0x Viewer? See attachment for example.
