Hello Han, Jim, I have read the tread. Very interesting discussion and examples! I think that this video shows exactly what is happening with the focusers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqF_ETWvBCA In APT I have made possibility to define Inward and Outward backlash because I also thought that backlash is affected by the gravity of the camera, focuser design and etc... However it happens that in reality the focuser's backlash is not affected by the gravity. It is just like the behavior on the movie....

Hi Han, On the image the graph is for the FWHM, double click on that area to switch to the HFD graph. Definitely the HFD is the better metrics. Regards, Ivo
