Yes I have tried all options in the drop down without any luck As per original post if I unplug the Nova Pros at any time and plug the Arctis Wireless Pros back in they work.

Yes old ones are Arctis Wireles Pro New ones are Arctis Nova Pro New headset without equalizer (even when using SteelSeries EQ in despiration) sounds like I have the earphones though a 2m long 100mm pvc pipe, its not nice lol xD

Late reply but I have resorted to using my old headset and just came back to the post now. I uninstalled SteelSeries GG and als uninstalled the headset drivers It forced me to re-tick and re-intall Equalizer APO in configurator, but to no avail with the new headset. Old headset worked immediately when I unplugged the new one and plugged old one back in Might need to try a reinstall soon

Old headset was a set of SteelSeries Arcis Wireless Pro which worked flawlessly with equalizer APO. Just bought a set of Steelseries Nova Pro Wireless and im trying to set it up and try it out. When I first tried to set it up, it showed as installed with the new name as per screenshots attached. Started with uninstalling via the configurator, and re-installing. Tried all 3 options. The odd thing is although the new headset doesnt work at all when I unplug the new headset and plug in my old headset...

Yep. I was a bit surprised. I even copied my old equalizer profile straight off the old laptop so it was a like-for-like comparison of how it was set up.

Little update. Completely new laptop now, brand new and set it up from scratch. Default flat profile in it is clipping now at max volume (not an issue with PEACE). This means I need to set up my own equalizer and set the pre-amplifying to a negative level. Currently using my old preset a -5.5dB pre-amp and it still clips. This headset is a Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless which I had before on the prior setup and could use a 18-20dB preamp withou distortion or clipping. I guess this is more proof...

Sorry David, haven't used other equalizers so I can't help here. Best of luck Maybe someone else here has some insight into your issue. Please update here if you find an answer

  • T R T R posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Hi David, Yes it was caused as I had the pre-amplifying too high. Because of the way equalizer apo works, if the pre-amplifying or any of the gains at any frequencies are set too high, it can glitch out. I leave my pre-amplifying set to 0db unless listening to some older music that's quieter. This may be different for your setup, but I have most of my gains set between 0 and 10db apart from a couple which are around 15db and although this still isn't ideal I haven't had any issues since.

Update: Have been using the new headset for a week set at 0db pre-amp with the same EQ I linked earlier. I find myself turning the volume down for alot of music now, I barely tried any music when I commented on new years eve. The G935 and the Arctis Pro (wired) I had this issue with before were definitely quieter than the Arctis Pro Wireless I upgraded to. Both prior headsets needed a good pre-amplification to get loud. Older music still needs a little pre-amp though to be the same level. I still...

Some of the older music I listen to does need a decent gain increase though as they are quiet (16-18dB) but I do need to remember to turn it down after those tracks else it does audibly distort now on this new headset (did not have this with other headset but still). If anyone else is in the same predicament in future you can forward them here Happy new year!

As it turns out, my Steelseries Arctis Pro headset had one of the hinges break yesterday (only a few months old) so I took it back and paid a bit extra (nearly $300 extra here in Australia) and upgraded to a Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless yesterday afternoon which has a built in EQ in the dock. I had a play with it. (this was actually coincidental and a common issue) With the EQ built into the dock any frequency being turned up more than a couple clicks, it clips like no tomorrow. So I set it to...

I did recognise your name some time ago when you were one of the couple people who tried to help me initially. Great little interface you created. Easier on the eyes and much more user friendly. I haven't used some of the more advanced features however. Yeah sadly, I'm not counting on it. It's not a dealbreaker though thats for sure. Started using this software many years ago and definitely intend to use it for quite a while longer Limiter/compressor as in dynamic gain adjustments? Would definitely...

I appreciate the input with this issue and I know I'm being a bit ignorant here. When I say that I occasionally listen to music loudly, I mean windows volume and the external control knob at maximum, with the 18dB preamp. I'm not pre-amping it for low level listening. I have it that high because I want it to be loud and it is. No distortion or clipping audible at all. I see the peak value meter now, I had to restart the software. Having my config running, and turning anti-clipping on makes the software...

I tested it with a few of the other default configs and it does only happen with mine. The 80dB limit wouldve just been a figure I punched in, no reason it's that high. I played around with peace a bit and found a way to cause the issue to occur. Definitely turn your windows volume down before you try this! -With the default flat config, I set the preamp to +37dB as an experiment and the issue occurs as soon as any audio plays, until it stops. It's not instant distortion - it ramps up. Try it -With...

Randomly 'ramps up' equalizer well past clipping/distortion

  • T R T R modified a comment on discussion General Discussion

I just tried it, the only other options than the default are SFX/MFX and SFX/MFX experimental. With SFX/MFX and the equalizer enabled, at the desktop without audio playing, there is a pulsing 'zapping' sound changing pitch constantly. Disabling the equalizer stops the noise. Just uninstalled G-Hub completely and when running configurator I had to reinstall APO for my headset, I'll update here in a bit. I did not try this before as I didn't think G-Hub would have an impact. UPDATE: Since uninstalling...

I've found that equalizer APO overrides any audio settings within the logitech app. If I disable equalizer APO and try change settings in G-Hub, nothing changes. I'll try EFX/MFX as well and report back

Randomly 'ramps up' equalizer well past clipping/distortion after quiet periods

A couple more observations today. When it occurs, audio goes to basically inaudible levels before it ramps up to the issue I am having. When I have music playing and disable the EQ with the 'power button' it does the same thing. Also muting audio does nothing, nor does taking headset off and waiting it out. Audio must completely stop from the source for a few seconds before it stops. It has a quick 'ramp down' but if it isn't fully 'ramped down' it just goes straight back to the issue. Today I have...

Thanks for the advice. I just ran a full scan with Malwarebytes and nothing came up. There are no extra audio options with Windows 10 (no 'Enhancements' tab), but I have tried disabling application exclusive control and surround sound. In Logitech Ghub, equalizer is set to flat as well. I can't see any frequency or specific app causing it. 10mins ago I had to pause music for 5sec because it happened but it didnt occur for an hour or so beforehand.

Not sure, I don't think it's any specific frequency as it even occurs when talking to people over Discord. The break between people speaking. It didnt do it for over an hour but it just did it again now twice within a couple minutes. Playing WoW with sound muted ingame, and just people talking on discord. It's completely random I'd also try your low pass filter but how would that affect audio playback as in music? Would it reduce bass in music?

Hi so I have an issue with this at the moment. Tried even disabling everything from within the app with the 'power button' and it still occurs. This has only started since installing it. The best way I can describe what's happening is, say audio goes quiet for a couple seconds. At complete random times, when audio starts again, it just 'ramps up' everything as if you are turning gain up well past where it should be, until all you hear is unbearably loud distortion, then a few seconds later it goes...
