But we can already set our own Message Beep sound via mmsys.cpl :) Whatever the "Default Beep" sound event is set to, rundll32 user32.dll,MessageBeep will play that sound - short or long. I always set "Default Beep" to the very short "%windir%\Media\Windows Default.wav" instead of "%windir%\Media\Windows Background.wav" (which is the long default on Windows 10).

Hey that's great! I just tried it out. Thank you so much! Can I modify some resources in some DLL/EXE to make it play the default Windows sound that plays when I run: rundll32 user32.dll,MessageBeep ?
