Thanks, I didn't see the reply in the other thread - I suspected the question would be buried, but now the answer was :-)
Using VeryCrypt 1.26.20, is it possible to upgrade an encrypted Windows partition (UEFI) from 23H2 to 24H2 in-place, i.e. without decrypting => upgrade => encrypting? Thanks.
Using VeraCrypt 1.26.18, can Windows 23H2 be upgraded to 24H2 in-place (i.e. without decrypt => upgrade => encrypt)?
The existing thread seems to be about fancy hidden os configurations and legacy bios, so I'm still wondering about two simple questions: Does VeraCrypt (currently on 1.26.17) 'standard' system partition encryption work with a Win11 24H2 'standard' installation, i.e. uefi bios and nothing changed (TPM, Secure Boot enabled)? If "yes" - can a Win11 23H2 system with such a 'standard' system encrypion be upgraded to 24H2 in-place, or is a decryption necessary before upgrading with Windows Update? Tha...
Are you using a legacy bios, too - or UEFI with default settings (TPM, Secure Boot)? I have 2 UEFI systems, 1 AMD (Zen4), 1 Intel (Tiger Lake) and am wondering if upgrading to 24H2 and encrypting w/ Veracrypt makes these systems inaccesible.
Upgrading to 24H2 esp. on AMD makes sense because of the signifiant speedup due to better branch prediction code in this latest Win11 release.
To clarify, the problematic systems y'all are talking about are fancy and not what the defaults are (UEFI TPM & Secure Boot enabled, system partition encryption only)?
Reading this thread, I'm really confused - so two simple questions: Does a Veracrypt 1.26.15 'standard' system partition encryption work with a Win11 24H2 'standard' installation, i.e. nothing in the UEFI bios changed (TPM, Secure Boot enabled)? If "yes" - can a Win11 23H2 system with such a 'standard' system encrypion be upgraded to 24H2 in-place, or is a decryption necessary before upgrading with Windows Update? Thanks!
