Hello Dimitry, yes, the possibilities in freeplane are amazing, I appreciate these features daily and was always impressed how well the complexitiy is handled! I have huge mind maps as part of my daily routines and it always works like a charm. However, in outline view, node positions are always fix, and my proposal sticks with this principle: Distribute first level nodes horizontally to a fix position, all positions of child nodes stay fix as well. This arrangement would enable a couple of interesting...

Dear Edo, thank you for your contribution. However, what I am talking about is not a "new functionality" - it is a minimal adaption of an existing feature (outline view). Maybe I was not clear in describing what I mean, therefore I have added an image: It is very simple. There is no functional change of any kind. Furthermore, the existing "outline view" is not "destroyed", as it still serves all needs of the current version. Instead, it increases the possible use cases of outline view. Thus, showing...

Dear Miguel, thank you for your reply. I hear what you say and there is some truth about it. However, outline view is a (presentation) feature that already exists. To increase the possible use cases of a feature is improving the feature. I am convinced that the changes I suggest would not take Freeplane away from its focus. But this is my personal opinion. To clarify: I am only talking about the very simple solution, having the first level of nodes next to each other in outline view. As there are...
