Andy, I am using the latest.iso from the website. The USB will only boot with LEGACY. I just get the failure when grub2 is being installed. The message says it cannot write to HD. I don’t want to try again to install since the install completely trashes my HD. So I cannot provide the screenshot. I have finally given up and installed the Debian Pure Blend for Ham Radio. The network is up and running properly. So far this happened with 3 computers. It is not a network issue. I have tried to do an install on two different computers with the same result. Everything goes fine until the grub2 installation - it fails the same each time saying it cannot be installed. I would really like to use this distro but I cannot get it installed. Robin W4IEN w4ien@comcast.net
Well I found the problem. Apparently a low level format did the trick
I have set up a USB install 4 times now to do the install, no joy. I verified that the USB device is functioning properly. I have done a fdisk setup of the USB device and insured that the bootable flag is set. I have used DD to create the install and I have also created an install using Rufus on Windows 10 and nothing works. My system shows the USB device but it will not boot. I have used this exact setup to install Ubuntu many times. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I am using the latest...
