I can confirm I had this in Ubuntu 24.04 LTS with OmegaT 6.1.0 and 6.0.1. This was one of the reasons I went back to using OmegaT 5.7.0 on Ubuntu 24.04 with X.org (together with fractional scaling and blurry text issues with the switch to Wayland display manager from x.org, and the Google Translate plugin without API not working properly in OmegaT 6 and higher). Thanks Hiroshi, the MT plugin is for Google Translate and the MT service does handle the same input correctly outside of OmegaT. It seems that the tag problem has something to do with the new feature of hiding the tags in the MT pane between OmegaT versions 5.7.0 and 6.1.0. In the MT pane, not only are the tags hidden but there have been replaced by big white spaces.

The tags got mangled by the SourceForge WYSIWYG in Example 1. Should be: Example 1: Expected behaviour: <t0>La mia traduzione -> <t0>My translation Actual behaviour: <t0>La mia traduzione -> <t0\>My translation</t0\></t0></t0></t0>

Machine Translation output escapes forward slashes with backslashes in 6.1.0, breaking the protection of the tag, which is, in any case, protected in the result of the MT plugin.
