Just had this happen. Put drive in external enclosure, selected it in VC, hit mount, and it mounted automatically without requiring the password. So much for being secure. If VC is just going to randomly decrypt drives without requiring a password, I'm better off with BitLocker, which is just sad. That this happens at all is problematic, but the fact it's even possible is disturbing and makes me question if these drives are really encrypted. And no, Fastboot isn't enabled, and last time I put the...
Created another issue about this as I didn't find this one when searching (the search function here is not good). Here's what I said there: As much as I'd like to be able to just trust that everything is working perfectly when synchronizing two database files, I can't, and I have concern that I'll end up losing something. This means I have to keep copies of the pre-sync'd files, made more challenging by the fact it doesn't create a backup copy and just overwrites the file. So not only does it not...
View/see changes when synchronizing databases
Nothing else is unusually slow and, as mentioned, it happens with all plugins disabled/removed and with a default portable instance, and it definitely appears related other programs, though further troubleshooting on my desktop will have to wait until my next reboot, which I don't do very often. I'll keep the .NET repair in mind for then as well. In the meantime, I'll have to limit troubleshooting to the laptop, which I don't really use. I'm not switching to the stopwatch or starting and stopping...
It takes 2-2.5 seconds, using a stopwatch, with AnVir Task Manager running, and 1-1.5 seconds without it running, both consistently. So that's having some effect, though it doesn't seem like it should even be able to, I don't recall having any slowdown on my laptop even with it running, and it's still significantly slower than on the laptop, which is essentially instant. I'll have to do more testing to see what other apps, if any, are slowing it down, and if it slows down on the laptop if AnVir or...
Same thing occurs with the test database, and it gets worse as the groups get larger, as expected. I stopped counting at one minute for copying a password from the ELG, and it was probably close to 1.5 minutes. Interestingly, it takes ~7 seconds to load the VLG from the ELG but it only takes ~2 seconds to load it from the LG, so it's like it's taking longer to flush the group it's on when switching to another. Copying an entry from the LG takes ~7 seconds. My top-level folder is empty, so it loads...
Thanks, but unfortunately, not only is that already unchecked, but it's "only" a little under 600 entries, and this is on an i7-7820 with 64GB of RAM, so computer performance should absolutely not be an issue. And the same configuration on my laptop with a R5-4650u and 16GB RAM has zero lag, with KeePass immediately dropping to the background when double-clicking an entry. Maybe I just need to reinstall KeePass, but I like to actually figure out the cause of problems and fix them if possible vs just...
Whenever I double-click an entry in the username or password field in the main interface, it takes about three seconds for KeePass to drop to the background, during which time I also can't do anything else in KeePass as it becomes unresponsive. I removed all plugins and still did it, and I tried in other folders with fewer contents and it didn't. It's only slow in my main folder which has several hundred items, so it's as if double-clicking is causing it to refresh the folder or something, though...
