    Great! Let me know how it goes! I agree, using Freeplane for the GUI would be amazing. To add a child to a tree of children, just put a "." on a new line, followed by a space, followed by the text of the new note. Unification with other emacs modes is something we want more of. I'm not familiar with evil-mode. Do you see duplicated commands available in both evil-mode and smsn move-mode? (The keyboard shortcuts are easy for a user to change; just mess with the definition of smsn-move-submode-map...

    Semantic Synchrony is a free, open-source knolwedge graph editor. We are looking for both users and coders. It includes a Freeplane importer. Unlike Freeplane, a knowledge graph in Semantic Synchrony does not have to be a tree; that is, notes can have multiple parents. From each note, you can view not only its tree of descendents, but its tree of ancestors. The graph is searchable using Apache Lucene. Lucene allows wildcards, so searching for "hedon*" will return notes containing the word "hedonism"....
