I'm running a server on a Windows 10 machine and, in case the computer gets rebooted, I have a shortcut in the startup folder to run Jamulus server whenever Windows starts up. I have command line parameters tweaking various settings. I've noticed there's a checkbox in the Options tab of the GUI that says "Start Minimized on Windows Start". I have it currently unchecked, but my shortcut does the same thing, even running it minimized on startup. So how should I best set it up? If I check the box, I...

Thanks for the help! Too bad this feature requires a systems engineer to setup a webserver with php to use it. Jamulus is great for techies, not so much for musicians. Probably why there are so few servers running out there.

Just upgraded my server to 3.5.10 from 3.5.5 and I couldn't start the server from my desktop shortcut. Oddly, the shortcut in my startup group DID start it. Comparing them, I found that the problem was that I had a command line parameter in the old shortcut: --histdays 14 This caused the startup to fail. I don't remember how/why I had that parameter in it. What was it supposed to do and why was it removed?

I've been using Jamulus with pretty decent performance for a couple of months now but I'm puzzled by the amazing lack of servers in my area. Between Santa Barbara and San Diego there is only ONE server on the list (mine)! Furthermore, there are very few musicians that get on it or any other low latency server available to the Los Angeles area. I would think that during this pandemic there would be a peak of use of Jamulus and its ilk. And LA claims to be the entertainment capital of the world! H...

After somehow finding the command line options, I finally got the recording to work. Make sure you use a capital -R parameter (or the word --recording with 2 dashes) and, MOST IMPORTANT, end the line with the path to where you want the recordings stored (in quotes). It would be great if someone could update that wiki page to include information on the additional parameters needed for each item there and a bit more explanation of exactly what they do.

I finally got a recording after a bunch of research! The command line switch page only mentions that the --recording parameter ALSO needs a folder specification in the notes at the top of the page, and it subtly indicates that this is to be run on the SERVER. So if you don't run your own server, you're out of luck. And it would be great if you could start the recording from the client computer (otherwise you may have to run into another room to get to the server to start it). Your server startup...
