Sorry if this is a duplicate; I had checked the existing tickets and didn't find any previous report. I don't have DIN 678-1 and DIN 680 here, but they are often quoted so I'm pretty certain that the dimensions I mentioned in my original report (width of DL envelope 220 mm, window ends at 110 mm) are the ones specified by the standard. IMHO having an address field that is too wide even for the perfect case specified by the standard (without considering any additional tolerances) makes little sense....

I don't see any efforts; the links to Github and Weblate are dead. At least for the first link, I cannot confirm this. The Github repository exists, although the last activity there was in late 2021.

As Hans-Bernhard said, it is really three different targets pdf, tikz, and pdf_nofig. So when using gnuplot.pdf as an intermediate target, make cannot know which of the three figure styles it should use, because none of them is listed as a prerequisite of gnuplot.pdf. I have attached a patch for docs/Makefile.am which restructures things, using only the common recipe for building gnuplot.pdf, but not using it as an intermediate target. Not sure if gnuplot.pdf is actually needed as a make target....

Attached patch makes it compile for me. (I am not entirely sure if more statements should be moved into the conditional in CACA_modify_plots.)

Yes, if the first call of PKG_CHECK_MODULES is inside some conditional, then there must be an unconditional PKG_PROG_PKG_CONFIG call first. It is explained in m4/pkg.m4: # Note that if there is a possibility the first call to # PKG_CHECK_MODULES might not happen, you should be sure to include an # explicit call to PKG_PROG_PKG_CONFIG in your configure.ac Attaching config.log as requested.
