OK thanks Daniel.
Hi Daniel, I also wanted to know if DWSIM is OPC Compliant? Do we need to install any other add-on to make it OPC Compliant. If yes, can it be configured as an OPC Client? And as an OPC Server? I have some familiarity with Matrikon OPC. Thank you very much for your help and support.
I reinstalled DWSIM, however the run-time error still persists. Is there anything else I can try?
OK thanks, will do.
OK so you mean uninstall DWSIM and reinstall? I remember registering libraries while installing DWSIM, will doing it again help?
Yes, after reinstalling the libraries what I did was rename the 1.0 tlb file so it does not reference the 1.0. Now, it references 1.1 but I still have the same issue of Run-time error '13' Type mismatch while setting feed = sim.GetFlowsheetSimulationObject("2"). I am running 64 bit Windows 7, 32 bit DWSIM 5.6 Update 12 and 32 bit Excel.

Thanks Daniel. I will continue to explore DWSIM/data historian connectivity. Can you please help with the Excel connectivity. I keep getting Run-time error '13' Type mismatch while setting feed = sim.GetFlowsheetSimulationObject("2") even after reinstalling the CAPE-OPEN libraries.
Wow, that is exciting. Can you please tell me more? Which historian/OPC did you use? Do you happen to have any examples/ideas on how to implement it? We primarily deal with IP.21.

Hi Daniel, We are exploring DWSIM to see if we can use it in some of our projects. I wanted to know if it is possible to connect DWSIM directly to data historians like AspenTech's IP.21 and OSIsoft PI. Are you aware of any such implementations? Thanks much, Ejaz.
Hi Daniel, I uninstalled and reinstalled the CAPE OPEN Libraries, however I still have the Run-time error '13' Type mismatch while setting feed = sim.GetFlowsheetSimulationObject("2"). Please advise.
Sure Daniel. I will reinstall and let you know.
Hi Daniel, I am getting Run-time error '13' Type mismatch while setting feed = sim.GetFlowsheetSimulationObject("2") while automating DWSIM using Excel VBA I have added all the references as mentioned on the DWSIM website, however I noticed that despite Browsing and referencing CAPE-OPENv1-1-0.tlb, I see CAPE-OPEN 1.0 Type Library under Available References. Intially it shows CAPE-OPEN 1.1 available to check, however after selecting 1.1 it later changes to checked CAPE-OPEN 1.0. Please advise how...
