    I realize this is a veryold thread, but I figure it is still worth answering... The following was done using a multimeter and simply checking for connectivity... I also checked the unused pins for any possibility of an inline resister using an ohm meter and did not find anything. However, I cannot be certain that I did not miss anything, so proceed at your own risk.
