Good morning, When I use differences, it is mostly the date before. When using TSP (=Times Series Processor, a software popular once for time series econometrics) one of the appealing features was it's ease to take lags over (previous) times. It was possible to use lag to the future, but it feels awkward. Russell sent the previous conversation. I will look at the data in that post this evening. I tried all kinds of things, but in the end had to edit the register. After cleaning up the register, I was able to install the alpha 21. Thanks for all the help and suggestions. I did use them and try them out.
I uninstalled and reinstalled. Result is the same. I'm running a windows 10. Later this afternoon, I'll test on another Windows 10 and let you know. I have found some leftovers in my registers. I might need to clean those up. There is also a ravel 3.1.0-beta.37 appearing in the add-&-remove window, but uninstalling doesn't work (doesn't find the uninstall ravel.exe.

A screenshot of the dialog window. I have made a dump file when I had to stop Ravel. If you like or it is useful to you I'll upload it here. (if that works :D ) I'll check out the solution later today.
I have been testing Minsky 3.2.0-alpha.18. First impression was that this bug was solved, but tried a couple of things and it's still there. The problem starts when going to either the plot or the Godley tables. The modal dialogue box is there somewhere, but it is hard to get it to the front. Usually trying with ALT-TAB things start to change. One of my screens is my laptop, which is smaller than my second screen. That's the reason I have it at 125%. I have tried switching it back to 100% and tested,...
I changed my setup so I had one screen and tested. I experienced none of the problems I had with the dual monitor setup.

I'm running Windows 10 (Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045) I work with dual screens. I'll change my setup after work this evening and test it with a single screen.

Had to change the extension to something else than txt zip 7z. Made it sps, but it is plain text.

You are right, it is the AND operator. It looks fine now, also in the equations tab. I'll attach the wiring in attachment. I'm still trying to figure out how to have something decay within a certain timeframe.

Hi Russell, Thank you for your explanation below! I have been working on this yesterday and came up with your idea of a pulse which is, as you said, much better, intuitively and Minsky deals with it perfectly. As replied by mail, I found the pulse solution yesterday which works great. Thanks for your further explanation (and your patience). We can close this ticket. Best, Tom
Either way sounds good. I'm tweaking a model of CO2 accounting for forests. I need to incorporate one more aspect and then have the numbers and biological processes looked at by an expert, just to make sure we aren't creating nonsense. When it is done I'll send it to you (and Ty K) for further suggestions. Best Tom
Hi Steve, I know the icon and how to use it. What I'm trying to get is a spike at one specific moment, like a massive extinction, ... My point is that the algorithm does not allow something like if t <> 10 then 0 else 1 The variable t will never equal 10 so 1 never happens. The time variable increases in steps of 0.07 Hence my formulation of if [ t < 10 - (0.07 / 2) ] or [ t > 10 + 0.07 / 2 ] then 0 else 1 I have coded the 0.07 in my model, but is there a way to get this step size, so I'm sure it...

Hi Russell, Thanks for the clear explanation. For the user this could be bypassed if Minsky/Ravel would start from whatever screen the user wants. I forced it by changing my main screen in the windows settings, making my secondary screen my main screen, but that gives other awkward results (not in Minsky/Ravel). The separators sometimes make it hard to have this window working. I mean: after "load" I see the data presented in a tabular form, so I thought that the top lines would be ok, else it wouldn't show this result. But that isn't the case, it throws errors back because the separators are different. (For some annoying reason creating a csv file in excel uses ; instead of comma's as the name of csv implied.)

Ok. That isn't in the v20 yet, correct?
I think you can close this. I made a mistake when entering the data.
Hi Russell, I checked the settings for my account and they are correct. I'll check later why this happens. I installed the new version and ... it works!!! :D

Ravel v20 - crashes
I have been looking at another database which is more limited, both in number of lines and columns. But it has its data arranged in a consecutive way, not in separate columns. So the date '6/30/2018' for example can be found +/- 20 times. https://finances.worldbank.org/Financial-Reporting/Historical-IDA-Income-Statements-Data/5fcd-tqcy
Trying to attach the database (might be too big). It's this one: https://finances.worldbank.org/Loans-and-Credits/IBRD-Statement-Of-Loans-Historical-Data/zucq-nrc3
