The recent patches for logscale seem to repair the bug 2725. This bug will be fixed in the stable branch and thus in the release version.
I could reproduce the bug with your script. The bug seems to appear when axis in log scale.
Please test binary package at the below http://tmacchant33.starfree.jp/gnuplot_bin.html .

I confirmed that I can build without failure with the current snapshot for 6.0-stable. Do you know if the Cygwin Makefile also needs updating? Do you mean config/cygwin/Makefile? Perhaps so. However, cross build environments of cygwin - mingw tools can be deprecated. Msys2+MinGW-w64 is so powerful and I myself do not recommend to use cygwin+mingw tools chain for building gnuplot on windows.

Great! The instruction is helpful for those who would like try to build gnuplot for windows. I wrote latest information on the bottom of this thread.
For Msys2/Mingw-w64 build, you can get a build instruction : https://sourceforge.net/p/gnuplot/support-requests/199/

Thanks for the patch. However, I needed to execute "make allterm-ja.h" after the patch was applied. This process is not required in other versions.
In the mingw build, no ./configure process exists. I did not use parallel build.

Thanks! That works! I'll wait for the bug for Wayland will be fixed. Meanwhile I will use GDK_BACKEND=x11 for the wxt terminal on Ubunutu (or Debian).
I failed to install Xfce to my Ubuntu PC. Instead I dually installed Xubuntu 22.04. If I use Xubuntu, the wxt terminal works as expected. Perhaps your suggestion is right. I consider that I post this issue to the Ubuntu forums.

I installed OpenSuSE 15.4 on the WSL2. Plot on the wxt terminal works as expected. Problem seems to be specific to the Debian and Ubuntu at the moment.
I installed Debian 12 on the WSL. The same behaviors as those in Ubunutu happened in the Debian 12.
I tested on the latest snapshot for gnuplot-dev. Results were the same as before.
I confirmed on Ubutu 22.04 on the WSL and native machine. In the weekend, I will try to install other Linux distro like Debain on on the WSL.

make pdf fails on Cygwin build with TeXlive 2023
My operation was something wrong. I deleted all old files and re-clone the git. Now make pdf works without modification of docs/Makefile. Thanks!
Thank you for the reply. The Cygwin error is from TeXLive 2023+pdflatex? gnuplot.log is attached.
Commit [267691] solves the issue on the MinGW but does not solve it on the Cygwin. I still need to modify docs/Makefile

The same error happens on making gnuplot.pdf on Mingw when TeXLive is upgraded to 2023. Replacing some "pdflatex"s with "lualatex" in config/mingw/Makefile solves the issue.
The same error happens on making gnuplot.pdf on Mingw when TeXLive is upgraded to 2023. Repracing some "pdflatex"s with "lualatex" in config/mingw/Makefile solves the issue.
Is this related to the bug #2608 ? Upgradig TeXLive to 2023 induced failure in compling the gnuplot documents using pdflatex. Chage to use of the lualatex gives successful results.
other gnuplot developers are using pdflatex from MiKTeX without problem. I have abandon to use MiKTeX for gnuplot document processing for some errors occurr (I forgot what kind of errors I met.) Now I am using TeXLive on the Cygwin and Msys2 for gnuplot documetation.

Altertively, I add the fontconfig config file ant related files to the current 5.4.6 windows binary packages. New binary packages are available the gnuplot SF site. If you set the PANGOCAIRO_BACKEND variable to fc (fontconfig), you can use fontconfig backend rather than win32 backend on cairo related terminals incluiding the wxt terminal.
Sans and Sans Serif themselves are not Windows fonts. I cannot guarantee that the fonts which are not registered in Windows font system display correctly. I think this is a font alias issue. If you use 'Microsoft Sans Serif' which exist on Windows, what happens if you use set terminal wxt font 'Microsoft Sans Serif' plot sin(x)
Hmm. I cannot test by myself because I do not have HR displays. One possible treatment is try to set the PANGOCAIRO_BACKEND envrionmental variable to "fc" (fontconfig) using the Windows setting feature. On Windows, the native pangocairo backend is win32. For other platforms the fontconfig is used for font handling. So please try the fontconfig backend. The win32 backend behaves worse than the fontconfig backend for the pngcairo terminals. See https://sourceforge.net/p/gnuplot/bugs/2512/
