The Asus C300m chromebook was bought ultra cheap as school surplus when the Google 6 year support package run out. It has a 2.16ghz processor, 1.8GB ram and 16GB rom with a 16GB sd card in a slot. It is used when travelling as a low value item which won't cause a lot of grief if lost. It previously had been converted to linux using the "mr chromebook" process and had been running Gallium OS until that was dropped. I had tried installing lubuntu, xubuntu, zite lite, puppy linux and a couple of others....
