-Nevermind, you have to shift click on 'name' and not 'date modified'.

Normally, it allows 'sort by modified' to force folders to still display at the top. I use this a lot.

Basically I just want a thing where the button that "shows desktop" doesn't affect the other monitor, since I usually never want the stuff there to get closed down. Whenever you open an app after hitting that button, you can't hit it again to restore everything to how it was. thanks

The button is really useful until it destroys everything on the other monitor. By the time you've clicked a new app, clicking the button again won't restore that window...
